Because of the current poor state of the economy, everyone is looking for great deals on products and services in an effort to save money. This is especially true when looking for cheap airline flights, particularly cheapest international flights. Fortunately, with the right knowledge, it is not difficult to get a good deal on an international flight. Below are a number of tips to getting a cheap international flight.
1. The best way to get a great deal on an international flight is to comparison shop. You should check with at least three to five different booking agents. The best place to quickly and easily compare airline rates is the internet. Online travel sites will often offer cheaper deals on their airline tickets than traditional ‘brick and mortar’ travel agencies. As well, you can often find private negotiated flight tickets on international flights. You should also look for low-cost airlines originating from your chosen destination. You should also check out online international discount airlines for some great prices on tickets. You can also check with international destination specialists as they can usually negotiate with airlines on restricted routes.
2. To get a cheap flight ticket, it is important to know the best departure times that offer the best flight rates. The best time to purchase cheap international flights tickets is three months prior to the departure date. Usually, the closer to the travel date the more expensive the tickets. Most experts recommend booking no later than 21 days before the travel date. As well, flying during off-season will significantly cut down on the cost of the flight tickets. Always check for special flight offers and discount deals.
3. When booking a flight, it is important to remember that the major factors that determine a price include: the length of the flight, if there are any stop-overs and the type of flight you purchase (first-class or economy). If you want a really cheap flight, you should book a non-stop direct flight in economy class.
4. Take the time to check the newspapers, magazines, fliers, and other advertising media for special international travel promotions and sales. Travel agencies will often advertise specials on international vacations.
5. Most people have some type of airline frequent flier miles program. Redeeming your miles points will save a substantial amount on your ticket. Airlines usually set aside a certain number of seats for award travel so it is important to book early.
Traveling abroad is an exciting venture, even if you are on a tight budget. If you are looking for a break from the stresses of daily life and need a little escape, you can get a great price on your international airline tickets by doing your research, looking for discount offers, and online comparison shopping for the best deal. No matter where you want to fly to, by following the above tips, you should be able to get a great bargain. You will soon realize that you can afford that special vacation you have been dreaming about for such a long time.

Finding cheaper air fares is a bit like looking for the Holy Grail – pretty much impossible, because the reality is that the cheapest air fare ticket doesn’t actually exist, per se. What do I mean by this? There are so many permutations to getting cheap domestic flights or cheap international flights – such as the route, different airlines, travel class, seating, travel dates and times, etc, – especially on international flights – that no travel agency or airline could actually guarantee that you are getting the absolute cheapest air fares.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be searching for the cheapest air fares but rather cheaper air fares that meet your own travel requirements in terms of time, convenience, comfort, etc. In other words, once you are fairly satisfied with a flight ticket, it’s best to book and pay for it immediately rather than wasting time searching for something that might only save you a few dollars extra – bearing in mind that if you can’t find it cheaper, your original deal might now have been snapped up by someone else.
