If you’re excited about the World Cup, then you’ve probably decided where you’re going to watch it, or you might not have decided yet.
Here’s where you might want to watch every match.
1. Perhaps you’re fortunate enough to be going there in person. You might have organised your travel, tickets and accommodation in advance, and are looking forward to going to South Africa, and seeing the greatest show on earth for yourself.
2. Like many people, you might be watching at home. Perhaps your family share your passion for football, or maybe you’ll be forced to watch some of the games in the bedroom on a smaller TV, so that other family members can watch what they want to watch.
3. Maybe you’ll be invited to a friend’s house, where you’ll need to keep one eye on the football, and be prepared to entertain the children too. You might find that you spend more time with the children if your team are losing.
4. You might be going to your parents’ house to watch one of the games. Perhaps they’re keen football fans, or maybe your mum or dad will be constantly asking questions, and asking how a player can play for his club and country!
5. Depending on your job, you might be watching the football at work. Your boss might let you sort out a TV, or use the projector and screen in the boardroom to show the matches.
6. If you enjoy watching football in the pub, then you might be tempted to watch all the World Cup matches there. However, you’ll find that there’s lots of people who know nothing about football there, and it might spoil your enjoyment of it.
7. If you want more privacy, but like the idea of being with friends, then why not see if you can arrange a private World Cup party at a bar? You’ll have all the benefits of being in a pub, and being at a private party too.
8. Maybe you’ll see if you can find a public screening of the games. They might be shown at your local football club, or in the city centre. If the weather’s bad you won’t want to be outside though, and it soon gets cold. It can be a long way home if you’ve lost too.
9. You might be able to watch the games on your computer. If you’re on the train or the bus, or at an event, you might be able to keep up with the scores by using your phone.
10. Perhaps you’re not a football fan, not bothered about who’s playing or who wins, and so not watching it at all.
Now you know what your options are, where will you watch the World Cup?
